The original SWANS website was put together nearly a decade ago through the tireless efforts of Terrance Bishop and uploaded onto the web on 12/20/96, as a fan page. Jarboe worked closely with Bishop at that time to broaden the scope of the site to include more photos, expanded discographies as well as a section for SWANS, Jarboe, and YGR merchandise. Cedric Victor-DeSouza contributed to this task with Jarboe and Bishop by joining the web team in the middle of 1998. His work focussed upon the streamlining of the varied viewing and browsing processes for visitors, from looking up album information to establishing a cost-effective ordering system. In 2000, Terrance Bishop moved on to pursue other interests, while Todd Zino stepped in at that time to develop and implement an efficient e-commerce arm as an addition to the existing mail-order system. Cedric Victor-Desouza moved on to other projects in 2004. Together, this cumulative team has worked very hard to ensure that the pages you see here retain cohesive information that downloads quickly, reads well, and is easily accessible.

Content and information on this site is updated continually. New ideas are also being hatched all of the time to broaden and improve upon this site for the fans. It is Jarboe's intention to keep this space intact as an artifact to the SWANS legacy. Therefor, while there may not be many shocking changes in store for the site in the forseable future, it may be enhanced from time to time to make the site more user friendly.
